TUNED PORT INJECTION SMALL BLOCK CHEVROLET

The TPI (Tuned Port Injection) engine was first introduced in 1985 in the Corvette, and then in 1986 in the Camaro/Firebird. TPI engines were not in any other vehicle. They were offered in a 305 CID and a 350 CID. All Corvettes came with the 350 CID, the 350 was optional in the Camaro/Firebird. Late 86-91 Corvettes came with aluminum heads. The TPI engine features long "runners" that promote great torque, and 1 injector for each cylinder. Also called multi-port injection.
